Austin boys golfers take eighth at Big Nine meet and Snee takes fourth

Austin sophomore James Snee had a big day as the Packers boys golf team finished eighth at the Big Nine meet in Mankato Friday.

Austin shot a 352 and Owatonna won the meet with a 320.

Snee shot a 76 to finish fourth out of 60 golfers in the meet. Snee also made the All Big Nine team with an average score of 82.6 this season.

“He played really well and we had great conditions today,” Austin head coach Matt Raso said. “Hopefully he can carry that momentum into next week and James and a couple of our other guys can get hot and make a run at state.”
