The Austin baseball team lost 12-2 at Rochester Mayo in five innings Saturday.

Hunter Lewis made his pitching debut for the Packers(1-3 overall, 1-3 Big Nine) and he shut down the Spartans in the first two frames before giving up two runs in the third and exiting when the game was tied 2-2.

“[Hunter] was called upon to help the team on Saturday and he stepped up to the challenge. Hunter kept the ball low and threw first pitch strikes, putting hitters on the defensive instead of allowing them to pick out their pitch,” Austin head coach Chris Gogolewski said. “ He had Mayo’s entire line-up off balance.”
