Eunice C. Gross, 95, of Blooming Prairie, died Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie.

She was born May 4, 1918, to Guy and Stella (Nelson) Ferrington in Steele County, Minn. After attending Steele County rural schools through eighth-grade, she graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1938. On Sept. 20, 1940, she married Harold Gustav Gross at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. They farmed in the Blooming area and moved into Blooming Prairie in 1973. Eunice and Harold had two children and were members of First Lutheran Church. A homemaker, Eunice was a very kind person and was always willing to help others. A lifelong member of First Lutheran Church, she was always involved in ladies circle, helping make quilts, and of course, was very busy helping with the annual lutefisk supper. A member of the Blooming Prairie Garden club, she enjoyed her garden and flowers. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends, her bus travels, trips to Korea and Hawaii, and summer family picnics. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and making lefse and abelskivers for them. These were favorites enjoyed by all.

Survivors include her children, Dwayne (Dawn) Gross of Blooming Prairie; DeVonne (Dave) Ulwelling of Austin; five grandchildren, Brandon (Melanie) Gross, Tasha (Dave) Gilbertson, Kristen Ulwelling, Ryan (Holly) Ulwelling and Mike Ulwelling; four great grandchildren, Mazy, Mya, Avery and Harper; two sisters-in-law; a niece and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; two brothers, Stanley and Neelan; a brother-in-law; nephew; granddaughter and a great grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie with the Rev. Charles Leonard and the Rev. Heidi Heimgartner officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment is at Union Cemetery, Blooming Prairie Township, Steele County, Minn. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Prairie Manor Care Center or the First Lutheran Church boiler fund. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
