Our Opinion: Good work, Pack

The Austin Packers boys basketball team is at it again.

It feels good to write about the success the boys basketball program is having this year. The Packers are set to face Red Wing for the Section 1AAA boys basketball title and the chance at a third consecutive state tournament berth.

The program has become a powerhouse over the past few years, culminating in a huge run to the state championship game last season. Though the Packers lost, they demonstrated their skill and hard work to the state of Minnesota and made our community proud.

We wish the Packers good luck, and hope this makes three in a row.

Speaking of good luck and proud communities, Packers basketball isn’t the only team in town to see a lot of success this year. We congratulate the Packers gymnastics program and the Packers Dance Team and Packers boys swimming for their successful state runs. We also salute the Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms and the Hayfield Vikings on their girls basketball wins and subsequent section finals berths, as well as Lyle-Pacelli girls basketball, which lost to BP but put together a dominant season with a young team.
