It was a memorable week for Austin Bruins forward Jay Dickman, who was named Central Division Star of the Week.

Earlier in the week, the 20-year-old native of Shoreview, Minnesota made his NCAA Division I commitment to Bemidji State University. That was followed up by Dickman, who is 6-feet, 6-inches tall and 225 pounds, being dominant in a weekend sweep of the Minnesota Magicians in which Dickman had four goals and one assist in the two wins.

On Friday, Dickman had two goals, an assist and was a plus 3 in a 5-3 win over the Magicians. On Saturday, Dickman scored two more goals in a 6-3 win.

For the season, Dickman is first on the Bruins and second in the NAHL in scoring with 60 points in 55 games played.

Austin head coach Chris Tok likes the boost Dickman has given the Bruins.

“It was a big week for Jay. I know he felt great about his NCAA commitment and you could see it in his play. He made a big impact in the games. Jay is really understanding how to use his body and size to generate offense and get to the net,” said Tok.
