Lyle-Pacelli girls finish on a strong note

The No. 5 ranked Lyle-Pacelli girls basketball team wrapped up its regular season with a Southeast Conference championship as it beat Spring Grove (18-7 overall, 16-2) 71-44 in Lyle Saturday.

Sarah Holtz poured in 27 points for the Athletics (23-0 overall, 18-0 SEC) and Brooke Walter scored 16 points, while hitting four 3-pointers.

LP has now rattled off 27 straight wins in the SEC and the team will open the Section 1A West tournament as a No. 2 seed when it hosts No. 7 Grand Meadow Thursday at 7 p.m. LP won both regular season meetings with GM.
