Letter: Thanks for supporting recent blood drives

The Freeborn-Mower County Chapter of the American Red Cross would like to thank all the blood donors who helped make the February 2014 Austin Community Blood Drive a success. A total of 299 units were collected during the three-day draw. Congratulations to several donors who receives milestone pins, ranging from 1 to 25 gallons.

A special thanks to the VFW and many volunteers for their help with set-up and tear-down. Also, thanks to the following businesses for their contributions and support: St. Edwards, Church & Corcoran Center, Sue Viehauser, Culligan Water Conditioning, Hy-Vee Food Store, Jim’s Market Place Foods, Austin Daily Herald and KAUS Radio.

Mark your calendars for Jun 2, 3, 4 and 5 and plan to donate at the next Austin Community Blood Drive. There is no substitute for human blood. The gift of life runs through you.
