The Riverland Community College women’s basketball team let a big lead slip away as it lost 72-55 to Ridgewater in RCC Saturday.

The Blue Devils (6-11 overall, 0-3 MCAC South) led by as many as 17, but they hit a cold spurt when Ridgwater switched to a zone defense.

“It was one we felt like we could win,” RCC assistant coach Ryan Weichmann said. “We couldn’t hit a shot for a bout five minutes.”

Mia Carruth led RCC with 18 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
