Police allegedly take down drug dealer after six undercover visits

After allegedly selling drugs to a confidential informant on six occasions, an Austin man has been charged with eight felonies in Mower County Court.

Jeremy William Schafer, 28, faces four counts of third degree drug sale, two counts of second-degree drug sale of more than three grams of methamphetamine and one count of first-degree drug sale of more than 10 grams of meth.

According to the court complaint, Schafer sold meth to the informant in Austin on Sept. 5, Sept. 9, Sept. 13, Oct. 1, Oct. 9 of 2013 and Jan. 10, 2014. Police arrested Schafer after the final drug sale in Austin. All told, Schafer allegedly sold 22.3 grams of meth to the informant during over that duration of time.

Schafer has a court appearance set for Jan. 23.
