The Austin wrestling team beat Faribault (5-5 overall, 5-3 Big Nine) 36-33 in Ove Berven Gym Thursday.

Mitch Tebay picked up a pin at 195 and Eli Kaercher came up with a pin at 220 to seal the win for the Packers (6-14 overall, 3-6 Big Nine).
Kaercher’s match was tied 2-2 when he picked up a pin that clinched the match.
“Eli came through with a big win for the team tonight,” Austin head coach Jer Osgood said. “He was better conditioned than his opponent and he took advantage of that strength. I am very happy for Eli. I was impressed with his fight and determination in tonight’s match. This win was a big confidence boost for Eli.”
