The Southland boys basketball team gave its best effort of the season, but its upset bid came up short in a 92-88 loss in overtime to No. 2 ranked Rushford-Peterson (17-1 overall, 13-1 Three Rivers) in Adams Friday.

The Rebels (3-16 overall, 2-12 Three Rivers) led 43-27 at the half and they nearly won at the end of regulation when Lukas Anderson’s half court shot went in and out.

“We played hard the whole game,” Southland head coach Matt Webber said. “Luke had a monster game and it was a great effort.”
