South Central Minnesota Youth for Christ has announced it will move into the building at 400 Third Ave. NW in Austin.

The area YFC has been eyeing a location in Austin, and a little more than a week ago City Life Director Rick Miller released details about the potential for a drop-in center in Austin. YFC, an organization set on helping young people with both faith and everyday life problems, already has a location in Albert Lea, of which some Austinites use, Miller said.

People expressed interest in starting a facility in Austin where the City Life program can help youth learn about Christ, along with other responsible, positive life choices. A full-time director would be on staff to oversee the building and operations, but the program would mainly be run with help from adult and youth volunteers.
