(7) Austin gymnastics team takes third at state meet.
The Packers came up with their best finish at the Class ‘A’ state meet in their third appearance in four years. They took third as a team behind first place New Prague and second place Melrose, but Austin left its mark in the floor competition, where it broke a Class ‘A’ state record with a team score of 38.175 in the event. Austin had five gymnasts score at least a 9.05 in the event.
