I can’t begin to thank all the people who made renaming the Ellis pool as the Bud Higgins Pool possible, but I must mention a few.

First, Jim Fisher, whose tireless efforts made this all possible. Next, Dick Lees, Don Fox and Superintendent David Krenz, who were there all the way. Then, my family, who was there to help and support. And coach Lynn Gulbrandson, who allotted time and aid for the ceremony.

Finally, the many swimmers who came from all over (Texas, Wyoming, Colorado, New York, D.C., California, Wisconsin and elsewhere). Thanks to all of you and others who risked the trip. I am indeed honored.
