Ilene Orilla Grose was born on July 3, 1914, in Kenyon, Minn., to Olai F. and Hannah (Anderson) Grose. Ilene was in a musical family and grew up playing piano in her church in Kenyon. She later met Gordian Anderson and they married on June 21, 1935, in Kenyon. They moved to Austin in 1935, where Gordian worked for Hormel Foods Corp. and Ilene was a homemaker and worked as a cook in the cafeteria at Austin High School. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, where she was active in the work of the WELCA group there. Ilene was a great cook and could recite recipes from memory. Ilene loved her grandkids and great-grandkids and enjoyed spending time with them. Ilene was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was the ultimate caregiver, not only for grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but for many relatives, friends and neighbors. The family would like to thank the staff at Our House Memory Care for the loving care Ilene received the last four years.

Ilene is survived by her son and daughter-in law, Dennis and Joyce Anderson, of Austin; and daughter-in-law, Dellene (Richard) Cummings, of Austin; six grandchildren, Denise (Robert) Rinaldi, Jody (Larry) Maricle, Shelly Olson, Brian (Melissa) Anderson, Eric Anderson, David (Nicole) Anderson, 18 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
