Ethel Emma Corbin, 95, passed away Dec. 3, 2013, at her daughter’s home.

Ethel was born Feb. 13, 1918, in La Crosse, Wis., daughter of Simon and Elizabeth (Rochelmann) Johnson. She was united in marriage to Melvin Daryl Corbin on Nov. 2, 1940. They later divorced. She graduated from Austin High School in 1936. Ethel worked for the Austin Public Schools system as a secretary until retiring in 1980.

She is survived by daughters, Jacqueline Bawek, Suzanne McAllister, Barbara Corbin; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also special friend and caregiver Barb Wollenburg.

She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Corbin; sisters, Eleanor Wakefield, Lois Fisher, Barbara Knutson; brother, Walton Johnson, and most recently following her death, brother Richard Johnson.

A private family service will be held at a later date. The Neptune Cremation Society is in charge of arrangements.
