The City Council approved a five-year, $100 million capital improvement plan for the city during its public meeting Monday.

The plan includes $47 million in capital spending next year, for projects such as upgrades to the Wastewater Treatment Plant and flood mitigation improvements to the Cedar River under the North Main Flood Control project. Of that $47 million, $35 million will come from grants.
