Sabbath researcher, religious liberty to be featured in video at library

A DVD presentation at the Austin Public Library will feature the life and thoughts of Samuele Bacchiocchi. The video will be shown 6:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9.

Bacchiocchi recounts his early life in Rome, his parents as solid Catholics who discover the Sabbath and choose loyalty to Christ over tradition. Secondly, Bacchiocchi shares the many Catholic and Protestant church leaders rediscovering the blessedness of the Sabbath, including its joyful rest.

Bacchiocchi, who passed away on Dec. 20, 2008. He received a gold medal from Pope Paul VI for academic distinction, graduating summa cum laude after his research of the Sabbath at the top Jesuit University the Gregorian in Rome.
