Debra Barclay, 56, of Loves Park, Ill., died Nov. 1, 2013, in Woodstock, Ill., after a brave battle with cancer.

She was born April 15, 1957, in Oak Park, Ill., to parents Richard and Marjorie (Schoon) Vercillo. She was married to Kenneth E. Barclay on July 12, 1975, in Loves Park, Ill. A certified public accountant, Debra graduated from Harlem High in 1974, and Rockford College where she earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. A giver at heart, she devoted much of her time to many different charities such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, and Special Olympics.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Kenneth Barclay; father, Richard Vercillo; brothers, Thomas E. Campbell, and Michael Krulac; sister, Cindy (Nicholas) Bjurman; four step-brothers; one step-sister; godchildren, Richard Campbell, Jason Bender, Paula Zillhart, Melissa and Kayla Hopkins; dear friend, Jane DeBo; sisters-in-law, Ramona (Gene) Harne, Loretta (John) Johnson, and Beverly Barclay; brothers in law, Floyd (Anne), Duane (Bev), Keith, and Rodney (Mary) Barclay; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her mother, grandparents, mother and father-in-law, one step-brother, two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.

Visitation is 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park, Ill.
