Basketball: Riverland men beat Luther JV

The Riverland men’s basketball controlled the ball and hit their free throws as they beat Luther JV 72-65 on the road Saturday.

Andrew Lau shook off bad ankle to score 22 points to lead the Blue Devils (3-1 overall) and Goliath Oboyo added 13 points. RCC had just seven turnovers and knocked down 87 percent of its 30 free throw attempts.

“Luther runs a good program and this is a good win for us,” RCC head coach Scott Koenigs said. “Our perimeter game isn’t quite there yet, but once we get that going we’ll be playing even better.”
