About three weeks into the United Way of Mower County’s campaign, it’s about a third of the way to its goal.

The United Way announced Friday it has raised $343,346, or 31 percent of the $1.1 million goal. The campaign started Oct. 5 and runs through Dec. 15, although many campaigns will wrap up in January and February 2014.

The next update is in November.

The United Way raised $1.03 million in 2012, the third-straight year it topped $1 million.

Money raised will support programs throughout Mower County that focus on education, income and health, as well as ensuring people are able to meet their basic needs.

Donations may be sent to P.O. Box 605, Austin, or dropped off at 301 N Main St.
