The Southland football team showed how good it can be when it takes care of the ball as it snapped a four-game losing streak and beat Fillmore Central (3-5 overall, 3-5 SFA Blue) 29-8 in Harmony Wednesday.

The Rebels (2-6 overall, 2-6 SFA Blue) had just one turnover after committing 30 turnovers in their first seven games and they led 22-0 at the half.

“When we don’t turn the ball over, we’re a pretty good football team,” Southland head football coach Shawn Kennedy said. “The kids played really good.”
