Alumni update: May playing big for Winona State

FOOTBALL

Southland grad Alan May hauled in three passes for 85 yards as Winona State won its homecoming game over Wayne State by a score of 45-41 Saturday.

May is the second leading receiver for the Warriors (5-2 overall) as he has 18 catches for 382 yards and three TDs.

He is also averaging 13.5 yards per punt return.

Grand Meadow grad Mike Gehling is having a strong season at defensive back at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Gehling, who is a senior at UWRF, is fourth on the Falcons (0-5 overall) with 24 tackles and he has one tackle for a loss.

Hayfield grad Evan Bungum has 14 catches for 251 yards and three TDs in seven games this season for Rochester Community and Technical College (7-1 overall).

SOCCER

Austin grad Jake Hagen-Erickson is playing soccer at St. Mary’s University in Winona.

Hagen-Erickson has played in eight games and attempted one shot for SMU (4-10-1 overall).

VOLLEYBALL

LeRoy-Ostrander grad Kaylee Bunne is making her senior season count at St. Mary’s University in Winona.

Bunne is the fourth most effecient hitter for SMU (21-7 overall) as she’s averaging 1.10 kills per set with an attack percentage of 21.1.

Bunne is averaging .75 digs per set and she is third on her team with 57 blocks.
