Woman wanted in regional bank heists arrested

MENOMONIE, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say a woman suspected of robbing banks in Wisconsin and Minnesota is in custody.

Local police say the Twin Cities area woman robbed banks in Menomonie and Hudson in recent days, as well as Minnesota banks in Cologne, Stacy and Forest Lake.

Menomonie Police Chief Eric Atkinson tells the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram the woman is in the custody of the FBI in Minnesota. The most recent robbery was Monday afternoon at the Dairy State Bank in Menomonie.

Hudson Police Chief Marty Jensen says the robber walked into First State Bank and Trust last Thursday, gave a note to the teller which said she had a gun, but never displayed a weapon.
