The Athletics (11-9 overall, 6-1 SEC) came out strong in the first game as they jumped out to a 6-1 lead. They were firing on all cylinders in the second game as they jumped out to a 16-3 lead.

It was just a few years ago when the Cardinals (1-15 overall, 1-9 SEC) used to be one of the top teams in the SEC and they would be the ones winning big.

“It’s amazing. I remember when we got beat 25-3, now it’s a game we look forward to,” Holtz said. “We’ve really improved and our team has grown together. We’ve learned to play with each other better as we’ve gotten older.”

Madison Truckenmiller had 10 kills for LP, Courtney Walter had 27 set assists, and Brooke Walter had 10 digs.

“It was our best all around game of the season,” LP head coach Lindsay Leif said. “Our coverage was great.”
