The Pacelli boys cross country team took ninth and the Pacelli girls finished fifth at the 10-team Dover-Eyota invite Tuesday.

A pair of seventh graders stepped up for the Shamrocks as Pacelli’s Kayla Christopherson ran a personal best time as she finished 18th and Myra Kraemer ran a personal best time as she took 20th.

“I expected them to be able to step in and help us out but they gave us more than I was counting on in this race,” Pacelli head coach Jim Parlin said of the seventh graders. “The fifth place finish is our best finish for the girls in a long time. I feel that we are only going to get better as the season progresses.”
