The Austin boys finished in second place out of eight teams and the Packer girls took first out of 12 teams at the Lake City cross country invite Tuesday.
Austin’s Madison Overby won the girls’ race with at time of 15:25.52, Paiton Schwab took fourth and Morgan Hose took sixth.
“Paiton Schwab, Morgan Hose and Abby Lewis continue to improve and gain more and more experience as the season goes along,” Austin head coach Tony Einertson said. “The times they are running now are what we were hoping for at the end of the season, so who knows where they are going to go from here.”
Austin also placed two boys runners in the top five as Andrew Baker took third and Quin Brunner took fourth with a a career best time of 16:43.55.
Hayfield’s Gabe Tempel finished 10th in the boys race with a time of 17:27.
