Volleyball: Athletics fall to Houston in four games

LYLE — The Lyle-Pacelli volleyball team had a tough game three as it lost to Houston (1-0 overall, 1-0 SEC) in its season opener by scores of 22-25, 25-21, 27-25, 25-15 in Lyle Tuesday.

The Athletics (0-1 overall, 0-1 SEC) led the fourth game 24-19, but they couldn’t close it out.

“It thought they looked pretty good for our first match,” LP head coach Lindsay Lief said. “We had a lot of hustle, but Houston had some good servers and we struggled a little on serve receive.”

LP was led by sophomore Sarah Holtz, who had 19 kills and nine digs.
