MINNEAPOLIS — Sweltering heat has prompted Minneapolis Public Schools to cancel classes in more than two dozen buildings for the rest of the week.

The district canceled classes Thursday and Friday in buildings lacking air conditioning. Classes at those sites will resume Tuesday, after Labor Day weekend.

Students won’t have to make up canceled days. All other sites will remain open.
