Greyhounds rally past Blue Sox in the seventhPublished 10:32pm Friday, August 2, 2013
The Austin Greyhounds took advantage of a minor miscue to put on a big surge and beat the Austin Blue Sox 15-9 in a seven-inning exhibition amateur baseball game in Marcusen Park Friday.
The Blue Sox led 8-6 with one out at the top of the seventh when they committed an error on what could’ve been a game-ending double play.
Instead, the Hounds rattled off nine runs in the frame as Andy Swank, who homered in the first, doubled in two runs, and Nels Nelson, who homered in the second, doubled in a run.
Nate Wilson finished 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for the Blue Sox.
Brady Klingfus took the loss for the Blue Sox and Tyler Leopold picked up the win for the Hounds.
