Driving to Twin Cities this weekend? Prepare for road work in I-35

Twin Cities motorists can again expect to see plenty of road and highway construction this weekend — and should plan their routes accordingly.

Here are the projects that will likely cause the biggest disturbances, listed from the northern metro to the southern metro:

— U.S. 10 will be reduced to a single lane in both directions between West Main Street and Greenhaven Road and just east of Seventh Avenue near the Greenhaven Country Club in Anoka.

— Just to the south, the westbound Ramsey County Road 10 ramp to southbound Interstate 35W in Mounds View will close late Friday in Mounds View. The northbound ramp will also close.

— Minnesota 65 will close in both directions between Osborne Road Northeast and 81st Avenue Northeast in Spring Lake Park.

— The Minnesota 65 ramp to eastbound I-694 will be closed in, also known as Central Avenue in Fridley.

— Minnesota 36 will close in both directions between White Bear Avenue and U.S. 61, and will be cut to a single lane between U.S. 61 and Edgerton Street.

Ramp closures include northbound U.S. 61 to eastbound Minnesota 36; westbound Minnesota 36 to northbound U.S. 61 and southbound U.S. 61 to westbound Minnesota 36.

— Minnesota 3 will be closed between 70th Street and Allen Way in Inver Grove Heights.

— Southbound I-35 will be cut to a single lane between the I-35, I-35W and I-35E split and County Road 50 in Lakeville.

— The southbound I-35W ramp to Minnesota 13 will close in Burnsville.

— Westbound I-494 will close between I-35W and Minnesota 100 in Bloomington.

— The Minnesota 101 and Minnesota 13 ramp to northbound U.S. 169 Highway 13 will be closed in Shakopee.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to use extra caution when encountering work zones.
