CLARKS GROVE — An 11-year-old child was airlifted to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester Thursday afternoon after he reportedly crashed his bicycle into a car backing out of a driveway.

Authorities have not released the boys name.

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Glen Strom said the crash took place on the 200 block of E. Main St. Sheila Kay Hansen, 50, was reportedly backing out of a driveway when the boy cut southeast through the yard and crashed into the back corner of the vehicle, Strom said.

The boy was with other children, who reportedly witnessed the crash.

Clarks Grove first responders, Gold Cross Ambulance crews, Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies and the Minnesota State Patrol responded.

The boy’s condition is unknown.
