Lansing Corners will soon have a new occupant.

Tommy Tauchnitz, owner of Crossroads Motor Company in Austin, hopes to open a bar and grill on Oct. 2 in a section of Lansing Corners.

Tauchnitz is leasing the ballroom and kitchen space within the building and expects to hire 12 to 20 people.

“I just think there’s a need for a place with good food and a great atmosphere,” Tauchnitz said.

Dave Olson, owner of Lansing Corners, is excited to finally fill part of the building. The building last had a restaurant in 2008. Olson bought the property in 2011.

“It feels great to have business going back in there,” Olson said.
