3 talent contest winners sent to state fair

Three winners of the Mower County Fair talent contest will be sent on to compete at the Minnesota State Fair in St. Paul later this month.

The winners are Henry Jacobs of the preteen category, Joy Riley of the teen category and Kristin Johnson of the open category.

Jacobs, 8, performed a violin medley. He will perform at the state fair on Wednesday, Aug. 28. Riley performed vocals and piano to the song “Love the Way You Lie.” She will perform at the state fair on Monday, Aug. 26.

Johnson performed vocals and drummed on cups with two four-year-old twins to “When I’m Gone.” She will also perform at the state fair on Monday, Aug. 26.

The state fair talent contest will begin each night at 7 p.m. at the Family Fair Stage in Baldwin Park.
