Nettie Manda Kolstad, 100, of Willmar, Minn., died last week at Bethesda Heritage in Willmar.

Nettie was born in May 1913 to Edward and Mathilda (Olson) Thorpe. She worked as a waitress and cleaning lady in Willmar. She married Elmer W. Kolstad in August 1945 in Eagle Bend, Minn., and afterwards worked as a homemaker and a waitress. In her free time, Nettie enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning and baking.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Kolstad, Cincinnati, Ohio; younger sister, Esther Rhyner, Willmar; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer in 1994 and by eight siblings.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar with the Rev. Theresa Kraft officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin, Minn.
