Ida Irene Winkels, 88, of Adams, Minn., died Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Cottagewoods Senior Communities in Rochester, Minn.

Ida was born to Mathias and Mary (Kramer) Mullenbach on July 17, 1925, on the family farm near Johnsburg, Minn. She married Victor Winkels on Nov. 29, 1950, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Johnsburg.
In her spare time, Ida enjoyed playing cards, embroidering and jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of Adams Legion Auxiliary and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband Victor, parents, and six brothers and six sisters.
Ida is survived by her daughter Mary (Craig) Applen, Rochester; grandchildren Jeremy Applen, Albuquerque, N.M., Jennifer (Brent) Nohner, Rochester; great grandchildren, Chloe and Christian Nohner; many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 26 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Swaminatha Pothireddy officiating. Private family interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be to Cottagewood, Seasons Hospice or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
