Amanda Holmen, daughter of Loni and Shane Simonson and Bill Holmen of Spring Valley, and Brandon Walter, son of Ann and Paul Walter of Lyle, proudly announce their engagement.

Amanda was a 2008 graduate of Kingsland High School and a 2012 graduate of University of Minnesota – Twin Cities with a degree in elementary education. She works as a first grade teacher at Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne Elementary School in LuVerne, Iowa.

Brandon was a 2006 Lyle High School graduate and a 2010 University of Minnesota – Twin Cities graduate with a major in agricultural education with an emphasis on leadership and communication. He works as an account manager for DuPont Pioneer in the Clear Lake, Iowa, area.

A wedding will be held July 27, 2013, at Saint Pius X Catholic Church in Rochester. The couple will make their home in Garner, Iowa.
