Janet Corbett, 69, Chaska

Janet A. “Puka” Corbett (Haugen), 69, of Chaska, died on Thursday, July 18, 2013. She was born Aug. 25, 1943, to Perry and June Haugen in Minneapolis. She was employed by Freeborn County and when she moved to the metro area she worked for Park Nicollet Health Services as a medical secretary. Janet loved to read, garden and camp with her family. She was also very crafty, spending a lot of time knitting and painting.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Perry Jr.; and nephew, Christopher.

She is survived by husband, John; children, John Nelson, Tom Wakefield, Tim (Carol) Wakefield, Angie (Jerry) Sheldon, Daniel (Melissa) Corbett, and Matt Corbett; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; niece, Sarah Haugen; and many other family and friends.

A memorial service will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 601 E. Second St. in Waconia. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Frauenshuh Cancer Center. Cremation Society of Minnesota can be reached at 952-924-4100.
