Kevin Ross Rockwell, 60

Kevin Ross Rockwell, 60, died May 27, 2013, at his home in Tulsa, Okla.

Kevin was born Aug. 4, 1952, in Austin, Minn., to Ross and Lois Rockwell. He grew up in Austin and graduated from Austin High School. He attended Open Bible College in Des Moines, Iowa, for two years. He was youth pastor at Open Bible Church of Austin under Pastor Robert Ross.

Kevin loved the lord and accepted him into his heart at a very early age. He loved to preach and then was surprised at what the Holy Spirit put in his heart and mouth. He would say, “Boy, that was good preaching!”

Kevin married Linda Maynard of Des Moines, and they had two daughters, Julie and Brook. Kevin and Linda later divorced. Kevin ministered in Florida and Tulsa. He also worked at Oral Roberts University. He then met and married Pam Holbrook and adopted her daughter Brooklyn. Kevin and Pam had a son of their own, Kevin Jr.

More recently, he worked for Henry Schein Co. installing dental equipment. His plan was to retire from there in August 2014, and return to Minnesota to be close to his parents. Kevin had such a good heart and was always ready to help. He is already missed by all who knew him.

Kevin was the proud father of four and grandfather of seven. His daughters: Brook Rockwell of Frisco, Texas, Julie (Dewayne) Ormond of Dallas, Texas, Brooklyn Rockwell of Tulsa; son: Kevin Rockwell Jr. of Tulsa; five granddaughters and two grandsons. Kevin is also survived by his parents, Ross and Lois Rockwell of Austin; three sisters, Linda (Edward) Eppler and Paula (Phil) Palacios, both of Austin, and Robin (Tom) Pasztor of Tulsa; three brothers, Garet (Kelly) Rockwell and Corey (Michelle) Rockwell, both of Austin, and Scott Rockwell of Broken Arrow, Okla. Kevin had many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on June 14 at Cornerstone Church in the Sterling Shopping Center in Austin, with Pastor David Simerson presiding.
