Irene Frances Bates, 93, of Austin, Minn., died Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home.

Irene was born May 5, 1920. She was a member and volunteer at St. Edward’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include four children, Patricia (James) Hansen, Bruce (Dianne) Bates, Gary (Renae) Bates, David Bates; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Helen; nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; and two granddaughters.

Special thanks to her niece, Marjorie Reutzel for all her kindness toward Irene. Thanks also to St. Mark’s Lutheran Home and the hospice ladies.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church with Father Jim Steffes officiating.
