Ham radio operators to hold demonstration

Austin ham radio operators will demonstrate emergency communications for 24 hours straight beginning at noon June 22 and concluding noon June 23 at the Mower County Historical Society Communications Building in Austin.

The demonstration is part of the Austin Area Amateur Radio Club and the American Radio Relay League’s annual Field Day. Hams across the country will communicate using voice, Morse code and digital signals. Demonstrators will also show spectators how to earn an FCC amateur radio license.
