Darrell Hagan, a graduate of Austin High School, and son of Paul and Martha Hagan, long-time residents of Austin, along with his wife, Lori DeLyser, wrote a children’s alphabet book entitled, “If I Could Be What I Want To Be.” The book showcases the couple’s art as well as a plethora of things girls can dream of becoming.

The collaborative work was, “At times frustrating, a lot of hard work, and a dream fulfilled,” according to DeLyser. Hagan, an artist who has a gallery in Minneapolis said, “ the experience was fun and at the same challenging to come up with unique careers that would make children and adults wonder and dream.”

The book is available at The Philomathian in downtown Austin, and through Amazon.com.
