A former Austin photographer is taking home an award for his work.

At least one photograph created by Nick Adams, formerly of Austin and now of Supreme Images Photography in Minneapolis, has recently been accepted into the General Collection of Professional Photographers of America’s 2013 International Photographic Competition held in Atlanta, Ga., July 29–Aug. 1.

Adams’ work will also be on display at the Phoenix Convention Center, Jan. 12-14, 2014, in Phoenix, Ariz. This International Photographic Exhibition is held in conjunction with Imaging USA, an annual convention and expo for professional photographers and several photographic associations.

In February, Adams was awarded a “Seal of Approval” for one of his four images submitted at the District PPA competition held in Des Moines, Iowa.

Titled “Survivor”, Adams’ photograph will be entered (and awarded a merit) into the General collection this July. Adams is planning to enter three more images into competition to compete for merits.

“It is such an honor to have one of my prints qualified for the General Collection,” said Adams. “Especially since this is my first year entering.”
