ALBERT LEA – The Austin boys golf team shot a 334 at the 18-team Albert Lea tournament Saturday.

Austin head coach Chris Goglewski was pleased with how his team played, especially with the Big Nine meet coming up on Wednesday.

“Our boys played the best golf of their season today,” he said. “They put up scores that show the potential is there for us to be competitive in the upper half of the Big 9.”

Alex Thorson shot a 77 to lead the Packers.

“Alex and I talked out a few holes and that helped to keep him focused on the course layout and strategies,” Gogolweski said. “ He has a good head for that aspect of the game.”

Austin scores: Alex Thorson, 77; Nick Ross, 85; Tony Baudler, 86; James Snee, 86; Ethan Morey, 88
