Kathleen H. “Kathy” Torborg, 71, of St. Cloud, Minn., passed away at her home with family by her side on May 1, 2013. The Rev. Thomas Knoblach will officiate.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at a later date.

Kathy was born to Ted and Kate (Kalthoff) Nett in St Martin, Minn. She attended Albany High School and St Mary’s School of Practical Nursing in Rochester, Minn. She married Urban Torborg Aug. 8, 1964, at St. Martin Catholic Church, St. Martin.

Kathy worked as a nurse in Rochester, Austin, Litchfield and St Cloud, retiring in 2004. After retirement, she was a tireless volunteer and was active with Foster Grandparents, Catholic Charities and was a nurse ambassador.

Kathy was an extremely loving and caring person. She went out of her way to provide comfort and warmth to patients, friends and family throughout her life. Kathy was passionate about the relationships in her life and took every opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren. She will be missed by her family who loved her dearly. We are forever grateful for the impact she had on our lives and will hold her in our hearts always.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years; children, Susan (Thomas) Belda of Rochester, Scott (Michelle Merck) Torborg of Chanhassen, Minn., Michael Torborg of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Connor, Molly and Nic, Aaron, David, Elise and Rachel; sisters, Ruth Stang, Rita (Martin) Rothstein, Joan (Arnie) Rothstein; brother, John (Kathy Heinen) Nett; sister-in-law, Beverly Nett; and many nieces and nephews.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edwin; sister, Mary; and brother-in-law, Clarence Stang.
