The Hayfield baseball team kept its season alive when it beat Goodhue 2-0 after falling to Southland 12-8 in the Section 1A West tournament in Riverland Tuesday.

The Vikings (8-12 overall) led the Rebels 4-2, but Hayfield went to its bullpen and Southland put up nine runs in the fourth to take the lead for good.

“We hit some good pitching in the first game, but I may have pulled Drew Streightiff too early,” Hayfield head coach Kasey Krekling said.
