The downtown Austin bar scene just got busier.

Dusty’s Bar & Lounge opened Friday night at 422 N. Main St., across from Steve’s Pizza. Mark Nagle, who owns South Central Athlete, and his son, Dylan Nagle, opened the bar after several months of construction.

The small, dimly-lit bar has an eclectic mix of art deco style and a classic bar atmosphere, according to its Facebook page. Dusty’s, which is open Wednesday through Saturday, also has a small kitchen.

Dylan said the bar isn’t named for anyone, but was chosen to conjure images of a classic lounge.

The exterior was renovated last year as part of Austin’s Main Street Project, along with its neighbors, Martial Arts Fitness Center and a photography studio, and two apartments above it.
