An officer was in the 100 block of 13th Street Northeast shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday and recognized a person, Willister, with outstanding warrants. Police say Willister ran from them and got into the trunk of a Buick. Officers pulled over the driver, Tammy, at an on ramp to Interstate 90 and asked who was in the trunk. According to the police report, Tammy said Willister was in the trunk, but she was taking him to turn him into the police.

Police arrested both Tammy and Willister. According to the Austin Police Department, Willister had outstanding warrants for theft, possession of stolen property and aggravated robbery. He faces additional charges for fleeing an officer and liquor consumption younger than 21, both misdemeanors.
