Christian camp coming to Westminster

School will soon be out for summer, but not vacation Bible school.

Westminster Presbyterian Church is set for its VBS from June 10 to 13 at the church in Austin. This year, organizers will bring in a group of college-age instructors from Inspiration Point Christian Camp & Retreat Center from Clitherall, Minn.

“We do an annual vacation Bible school, and we usually have an outside group come in and run the program,” said Westminster Pastor Mike Olmstead.

This program is available to the public for children entering first through sixth grade. The young instructors can relate well to the participants, Olmstead said, and they have plenty of energy and are ready to have fun.

“We’re excited about this group,” Olmstead said. “They have an exciting program.”

The theme is “Game Changer,” and the campers will learn about how Jesus is a game changer through songs, Bible studies, games, crafts and more.

They will learn how the gospel changes death into life, fear into faith, worthlessness into value, and enemies into friends. Along with Bible lessons, games, crafts and fun, the day camp will work on a community service project.
