Area schools alter schedules after snow days

Several area school districts are adding to their school year to make up for classroom time lost to snow cancelations.

—Austin Public Schools will expand its calendar to include a full day of classes on its last day of the year, June 5, in place of an early release day.

—Blooming Prairie has not made any changes to its schedule.

—Grand Meadow will evaluate its calendar and decide whether to make changes at an upcoming school board meeting.

—Lyle has not made any changes to its schedule.

—Hayfield will add three makeup days at the end of its school year. Instead of ending on May 30, school will run through June 4.

—LeRoy made up lost time in March by holding a partial day instead of a day off. No further changes have been made.

—Southland has not made any changes to its schedule.
